Updated Fibre Lock Device

Updated Fibre Lock Device

OPT Services announce that our renewed Fibre Locking Device is now available to order from our webpage here.

The Fibre Locking Device (FLD), also known as an Anti-creepage Device (ACD) is a cable securing mechanism, necessary for 'loose' jacketed elements in an overhead cable; commonly used with 36f Ultra Lightweight Overhead Cable. The FLD provides an effective solution that isolates the termination of the fibres, both spliced and connectorised in the fibre enclosure from 'in span' environmental loads such as ice and wind.

The device is attached to the wooden telephone pole with 4 x screws. Multiple FLDs can be fitted to a pole ‘in line’ when supporting multiple cables. The device has been designed to form a bridge over other cables that are fitted on the pole providing ease of use.

OPT Services uses the latest hybrid laser technology to etch a QR code onto the body of the device, allowing instant access to our instruction guide. The BT Bar code is also displayed using the same technique. Our latest innovation does away with packaging, meaning we can save 777Kgs of single use plastic.
