The Optical Network Terminal (ONT) is the ‘electronic bridge’ between the Internet Service Providers (ISP) fibre network, and the customers premises. There are many different ONTs in the market today, and the Shroud supplied by OPT Services is compatible with the Nokia and ADTRAN 1GbE ONT units.
Designed in association with BT Openreach, to reduce the number of callouts required to replace stolen or missing ONTs, OPT Services explored a cost effective method to provide additional physical security of ONTs once they were installed in customer premises. The result is the ONT Shroud; a bespoke wall mounted bracket that can be used to safeguard the ONT units in place. The unit is moulded and packaged in the UK.
